A condition report is a room-by-room photographic record of your property's state at a specific point in time. Move-in, move-out, or both. Every defect, mark, and worn surface captured and timestamped before it can be disputed.
Security deposits in Singapore are commonly one to two months' rent. On a mid-range condo that's SGD 5,000 to 10,000 sitting at risk. A condition report is the clearest protection you have if your landlord raises a deduction at the end of your lease.
